Good Morning, Just now wrapping up a verrrrry long day at Crazy Mama's. A good day filled with blessings and joy. Wanted to let you know that Koltin Link, my 15 year old grandson, is setting up a non-profit foundation to assist the homeless with a supporting website called: "Don't Look Away". He recently had an upfront & personal revelation and interaction with a homeless man with terribly damaged legs. As his family settled into a restaurant after noticing this man, Koltin was moved to ask his dad "Can't we help him out?" Now Koltin's family has had a couple of years of tremendous financial challenge. But his dad immediately went - with Koltin's brother Levi - to go to this man and not only offer him some money but also invite him to join them for dinner. (Koltin didn't go because he was crying. Koltin is an incredible athlete, a straight A student, and, a solid Christian who walks his walk. And he was deeply troubled by the general perception of people that the homeless are somehow less than - not to be considered as equals.) The homeless man said no thanks, he appreciated the offer but he had a ride to catch. Shortly after Koltin's dad & brother returned to the restaurant, Koltin looked up to see the homeless man walking - painfully - toward him. He wanted to thank Koltin for his concern and caring. He left and disappeared into thin air. An angel? Perhaps. A messenger? Absolutely. The homeless don't make that choice because they like to camp out. "There but by the grace of God go you and I." We are proud to be his first sponsor. He is ordering wrist bands (black with red incised letters) - "Don't Look Away" that will be available for a donation of $1.00 or more. We will devote a place on this site for him to be able to receive PayPal donations if you are moved to join him in his effo9rt to provide basic care & necessities to homeless persons starting in the Austin, Texas area. ...We have a giant glass jar at the shop that we have been putting change and dollars in for awhile. Didn't know which charity that money was going to. Just knew that would be revealed. After Koltin shared his plan, we knew - he is setting up his first ever bank account for this foundation with those funds. We gave him a check to cover the wrist bands. And he is on his way toward making a difference. He is taking action. We sincerely hope you will join his effort. "Judge not that ye be judged." All love in peace, Diana Diamonds |
